     Obligated to invite brother's girlfriend?

Hi, I am planning my invitation list and do not know whether to invite my brother's girlfriend. He has broken up with her numerous times and they are not on good terms. After the last breakup, she found out she is pregnant with his child. My brother plans to support the child and stay friends with his ex-girlfriend. Am I to assume she is now "family". My brother says he will deal with it if she is invited , but I am afraid she will make a scene (lots of crying, attention getting, and trying to gain him back). She desparately wants him back as a boyfriend (or more) so much so that she has been depressed for the entire pregnancy and because of her lack of appetite, the baby has not been growing as he should. She also has a four year old son from a different man. Please help!

Dear Rachel,

No, you are not obligated to invite her. They are not significant others.

Best wishes,
