     Reception invitation

My son and his fiance are planning a destination wedding in Florida. None of our family or friends including my daughter were invited to the wedding. Just the brides family and friends were invited. My husband and myself are paying for half of the reception expense along with her parents because there was no rehearsal dinner that any of our family and friends were invited to. Should the invitations for this reception included our name along with the parents of the bride?

Dear Foreveryours,

I'm sorry. I don't understand why the info about the wedding would make a difference here and why the fact that there was no rehearsal dinner would make a difference. Parents are no longer financially responsible for their children's weddings. So, you aren't responsible for anything.

If the names of the parents are included on the reception invitation, which many times they are not, your names would be included.

Note: rehearsal dinners don't include family or friends not involved in the wedding.

Best wishes,
