     Second Marriage

My fiancé and I are getting married 09/04/04. It will be just he and I @ the ceremony. We would like to send out announcements & put one in the paper but I would feel silly using the standard one where my parents announce the marriage of their daughter........again Unsure. Would it be proper for it to read: Mr.X and Mrs. X would like to announce their marriage on September 04 Two Thousand and Four? Thanks

Dear Second Marriage,

Yes, you may announce your marriage yourself. In fact, many are doing so these days, even for their first marriages. However, please do not use your married name before the wedding.

Congratulations.
