     Sending announcements after destination wedding

I am planning a private destination wedding in Bhutan. I have promised my family I will send out announcements and will also have a party to celebrate within a year after the wedding. We won't have a date for the reception for at least 3-6 months after the wedding since we will be buying a new home and want to have it once we move in. How would you suggest sending announcements?

Dear Punkpin,

Formal wedding announcements are only sent to those not invited to the wedding and/or reception. Since your reception won't be held for months, it might be best to just verbally inform people about your wedding. It wouldn't be proper to send them an announcement if these people will be invited to a reception later.

Best wishes,
