We decided to elope, but we have much of the stuff that we were going to use in our wedding like favors. Can I send a wedding favor with our wedding announcement?

This would be fine and may be viewed as very generous. However, only send these to those who really need to know, like very close family or else it could be viewed as a plea for gifts. Announcements are not and shouldn't be viewed as a plea for gifts. But when those who are not close receive these, it tends to be confusing and they often feel that the only reason they are receiving the announcement is to be reminded to send a gift.
