My son and his girlfriend eloped before their original wedding date.We did not know for a couple of months. So, do I send out announcements and, if so, how should they be worded?

Dear Calimom,
No, the couple would send these out directly after the wedding. But, we don't send these out months after the fact. It is confusing to those who would receive them. Even though announcements are not a plea for gifts, those who receive them just may consider them as such.
