My fiance and I were planning a big wedding in May, but just recently found out he was getting deployed to Iraq in May. We moved the wedding up to March, and decided that we wanted to have a small wedding before he deploys, and when he returns, that's when we'll have the bigger reception. We just want to have close family (parents, siblings) but are not sure what to do about sending out invitations to other family members and friends. We don't want to make them feel left out. Any suggestions?

Re: Small wedding, who do we invite?

Dear 21army,
Just invite those who are very close and then send out invitations to your reception close to the date of the reception. Even though we don't send announcements to those invited to the reception, you could simply inform your family verbally. I doubt that anyone would be upset about your plans.
