     Timing of Announcements

When should the engagement announcement be posted in the newspaper?

Furthermore, when should the wedding announcement be posted and does it require a photo?

The engagement announcement is usually submitted and printed in the newspaper 2 to 3 moonths before the wedding. A phoptograph is usually submitted. Contact your local newspaper to get a form to complete which should have all of the instructions for submitting.

The weding announcement is sent to the newspaper with a photo of just the bride or the bridal couple about 3 weeks before the wedding. A photo should not be required but please check with the newspaper to see what they require from you.
