     Wedding Annoucements

My Fiancee and I are having a small ceremony in another state for immediate family. A month after the ceremony, we will be having a reception/party for all of family and friends at our house. We are planning on sending out wedding announcement family and friends for both families but will only be inviting those members who live close to the party. How close to the wedding date should we send out the wedding announcements and party invitations?

Dear Announcing,

You would send announcements directly after your wedding to only those who are not invited to your reception and need to know. Your reception invitations can be sent six to eight weeks before your event. This means these would be sent before your wedding, which is fine. Guests understand that you will be married by the date of the reception.

Best wishes,
