     Wedding Announcement/Reception-Party Advice

My Mom and Dad want to announce my recent wedding to the rest of the family and their friends. They want to hold a reception type party for my husband and me and they want to invite our friends as well. We were married at their home in a simple civil ceremony. They want to throw a party at a local clubhouse. How should the announcements and invitation be worded? I am trying to help my mom, but am completely lost.

Thank you,
confused about announcement

Dear Wedding Announcement,

You want to send a reception invitation to those who are invited to the reception and an announcement to all of those to whom you wish to announce your wedding.

Reception Invitation:

The pleasure of your company

is requested at the

wedding reception of

You

and

Mr. Husband

Date

Time

Location

The Announcement:

Mr. and Mrs. Your Parents

have the honour of

announcing the marriage of their daughter

You

to

Mr. Husband

Date

Location
