     Wedding Announcement - Addressing

I'm getting married next month and would like to send out announcements after the wedding to those who can't attend.

What is the proper way to address the person on the outside of the envelope? I have many relatives that have children, so do I acknowledge that in the address?

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and family

or not

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe

Dear Lashbram,

Your announcement address to the Mr. and Mrs. John Doe is fine. The invitation only necessitates the inclusion of other family members.
