Wedding Announcement - Private Reception

Is it appropriate to put on the announcement for the ceremony only:

"Your attendance at the ceremony is your gift to us"?

No, to include this on your announcement would assume that your guest is giving a gift. Metioning gifts on any announcement or invitation is in poor taste. Please spread the message by word of mouth through family and friends.
