     Wedding announcement mentioning gifts

I am having a small wedding with immediate family and will be sending out announcements to friends and family friends. I do want anyone to feel obligated to send gifts - how do I word it or do I need to have anything about it on the announcement?

Dear Whatnext -

Announcements do not obligate the recipient to send a gift, so no need to fret over that issue. We never make mention of gifts, even not wanting them, in an announcement or wedding invitation.

Please use the search tool or scan the forum to learn more about wedding announcements. We have many posts on this very subject. Be sure to check to see if your question has already been addressed before posting new so that we can spend time answering new questions.

Thank you.
