     common law to "official" marriage

My partner and I have been together for over five years, and we have two children; ages 3years and 6 months. We have decided to exchange vows this November in a very small, very private ceremony. Only our children will be there and our parents. His parents are divorced. Our ceremony will be officiated by our midwife, and we have not asked for any financial assistance. We will only be sending announcements as there will be no reception afterwards, and we would rather not be sent any gifts.
We are a very close, happy, and loving family, and I would like to share our joy in a very simple but elegant fashion, but I have no idea what to say.
