     engagement announcements?

I recently got engaged but my fiance and I have decided to not get married for 3 more years. Should we send out engagement announcements? When should we send them out? To who should we send them? Where do we get announcements?

Thank you!

Dear Engaged,

No, there is no reason to send out any type of announcement. Some may feel as if it is a plea for gifts.

As you get closer to your wedding date, say one year to six months before, you can place an annoucement in the local paper.

The only other announcements we send are wedding announcements after the wedding to those not invited to the wedding and only to those who must know about your wedding.

Best wishes,
