     wedding announcement

we are getting married april 12 just in the presence of our parents. we are planning to do after wedding party sometime in the summer time , we dont know when yet. we want to send an announcement to family and friends and we know that peolple want to buy us gifts, i realize that is not polite to include registry in the annoncement but at he same time i don't want to receive 10 coffee makers, so how do i word it so it sounds right and by the way my registry has very affordable gifts($5-$50). What do you think , and how do I word the annoncement and when do I send it. thanks, DominiqueSmile

Unlike the wedding invitation, the wedding announcement carries no obligation to send a gift. Although some recipients may send gifts please don't expect them. If you DO receive 10 coffee makers you'll simply return 9 of them or donate them to charity. Of course you'll send a thank you note NOT mentioning that you had no use for the gift.

Get yourself a personal wedding website (many are very inexpensive) and post your registry information there. Spread the word with family and close frieds that you have a site online and post your registry information there. When you have your reception later on your guests who want to give gifts can look at your online gift registry.
