ASKING INVITEES TO CHOOSE CHOICE OF MEAL AT RECEPTION

I AM HAVING A SMALL WEDDING OF 80 PEOPLE AT A PRIVATE HALL..THERE ARE NO CATERING FACILITIES AVAILABLE SO I AM HIRING A PRIVATE CATERER...I WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE IN MY ANNOUNCEMENT ON A SEPARATE CARD, ASKING THE INVITEE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN A CHICKEN OR FISH DISH FOR THEIR MEAL...IF I DON'T THEN I HAVE TO ORDER FROM THE CATERER 2 MEALS FOR EACH PERSON IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE GETS WHAT THEY WANT...THIS WILL RUN INTO A LOT OF MONEY AND WASTED FOOD..WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR THE PROPER ETIQUETTE ON MY DILEMMA...I WANT TO ASK MY GUESTS BUT DON'T WANT TO LOOK CHEAP BY DOING SO...

Firstly, what you are sending is not an announcement but an invitation. You can print the following on your reply card:

Do you prefer the ______ chicken or the ______beef meal?

If there are more than one guest included on the particular invitation then, rather thanchecking off chicken or beef they would insert a number in the space before the entree selection, for example, if there were three guests invited on the same invitation:

Do you prefer the ___2__ chicken or the ___1__beef meal?

Hope this helps.
