Addressing an invitation to a legally separated, but not divorced guest?

I tried to use the search, but can't find an answer to my question. My aunt recently separated from her husband, and is now going through a legal separation, but they are not divorced. Should her invitation say "Mrs. Tracy Lastname" or just "Ms. Tracy Lastname"...I'm not sure the proper etiquette in this situation, because they are not divorced. Thank you.

Dear Amcs,

In the old fashion etiquette world, you would use the title "Mrs." either way. But, today we can use which ever title she chooses. Most likely, she would prefer "Ms.". But, you could ask her.

Best wishes,

I've been widowed 20 years and still call myself "Mrs.". Guess I'm old fashioned. Frown But, I'm not even 50 years old - YET!

It's best to ask the recipient, if you can. But, using Ms. is usually safe. I wouldn't stress over it.
