My fiance and I are planning a very small beach wedding with only family and a few friends. We would like to send out an annoucement to other family members and friends prior to the date. Is this tacky?
Most of our friends/family are aware that we will be having a intimate ceremony, however- I would like to inform others prior to the date vs afterwards.
HELP!!!

How can you send wedding announcements, announcing that you have been married, when you haven't yet been married?

My Goal??
Well... I would like to send out something announcing our upcoming wedding. I do not want it to be a 'save the date' or an actual invitation.
We have been together for many years and our family and friends would want to know prior too that we are 'finally going thru with it'.
Due to our budget, we can not afford to invite everyone. But do not want to send out an announcement after the fact.
So therefore my goal is to inform people prior too without inviting them.
Is that possible??

You could list an engagement announcement in the newspaper but wedding announcements can't be sent until after the marriage has taken place. Plus, engagement announcements don't ususally list specifics like dates other than something like, the couple plans a June 08 wedding.
Sending an announcement before the wedding could be mistaken as an invitation and, as I mentioned in my prior post, you cannot announce that you are going to be married since that would be an engagement announcement. Engagement announcements are not sent but published in the newspaper. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
