The groom, who is in the printing business and who is going to make the invitations, has created a beautiful monogram which includes both the bride's and his first and second initials and the initial of only his last name. Can this be used on the invitations (invited by bride's parents)?
I thought it was lovely but after reading some of the other comments on your site, I'm worried now that this might be appropriate only on stationery after they are married--such as thank-you notes or wedding announcements.
Please advise as very soon as possible as he is about to make them. Thank you so very much.
It may not be the most proper, but it is sweet and he designed it. So, it may not be best to deflate his ego after designing something so unique. It is quite a tribute to how he feels about his relationship with your daughter.
The use of monograms is very old school, very old fashion. And, even though we do have "rules" concerning their use, those rules really don't seem to make sense in our world today. We tend to bend some occasionally if it makes sense to do so. I would consider this one of those moments.
