     Deceased ExWife on invitation ???

My Stepdaughter Melissa is getting married to a lovely man named Dan.

Both of their mothers are deceased and they would like to mention them on the invitation. This may not be correct etiquette but they would like to do so anyway. The problem is how to word it.

Melissa's dad is remarried (to me) but Dan's dad is not.

Invite currently reads

Bernie and Samantha K

and

Thomas M

together with

the late Carolyn M and Barbara K

request the please of.......

I'm not sure about the together with part. Can you suggest any alternatives?

Thanks heapsCrazy

Dear Deceased Ex,

Your suggestion is good, but it looks as if the deceased is also inviting guests. This is impossible. The main point is that we don't want it to look as if a deceased person is hosting.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernie K

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of (their daughter)

Daughter's Name

who is also the daughter of the late Barbara K
to

Groom's Name

son of Mr. Thomas M and the late Mrs. Carolyn M

etc.

Or,

Mr. and Mrs. Bernie K

and

Mr. Thomas M
request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of

Daughter's Name

who is also the daughter of the late Barbara K
to

Groom's Name

who is also son of Mrs. Carolyn M

etc.

Best wishes,
