     Destination Wedding Invitations

My fiance and I are going to be married in Las Vegas this May. We want this to be an intimate and romantic ceremony. We were wondering what is the proper etiquette for sending out invitations for this event? Do we need to send out invitations to everyone in the families? Also, what is the time frame in which these should be sent out? Should they be formal invitations? Thank you in advance.

Dear Destination Wedding,

Because this is a destination wedding, you may wish to send out save the date cards now to all of those whom you wish to invite so that they may secure lodging. Then six to eight weeks before your wedding send invitations to everyone you wish to invite. The invitations should be as formal as your wedding. I would imagine that you would be sending informal invitations.

Best wishes,
