     Enclosure to denote uneven ground

I am planning my reception in my parents' yard which is large and beautiful) however, I am concerned that some of the older guests should be aware that the ground is not even. I was planning to include an enclosure card with information on the reception should I include a line about the uneven ground or wear comfortable shoes? Also, the cocktail will begin upon arrival but dinner is not until 7:00pm should this be noted? Thanks

Dear Jessiebell,

It may be best to include the enclosure about the ground. I'm not sure about the timing of your dinner. If your guests will have to wait hours to be fed when they expect to be, it wouldn't be fair to them. However, if you have plenty of appetizers, then you should be fine.

Please don't keep them waiting long though.

Best wishes,

Thank you for the help, what I was hoping for was suggestions as to the wording on the enclosure. And the ceremony should be completed about 6:20 or 6:25 with a 5 to 10 walk to the reception. So dinner at 7:00.

You're fine on the dinner and shouldn't mention it. The wording on your enclosure about the ground is a personal decision. You could simply mention that the wedding ceremony will be held outdoors where there is uneven ground.
