     Guests or not?

Friends of mine are getting married in August. The bride just informed me last night that while I would be getting an invitation, I won't be allowed to bring a guest as I'm not currently 'involved' with anyone. Only their married friends or those with S.O.'s will have 'partners'. Am I wrong to feel this is a bit rude? I understand they are concerned with costs, but I felt hurt. I love them to bits, but to be forced to go stag makes me sad.

I understand your feelings but your friend has followed proper etiquette here, sorry.

Perhpas you could find out if there will be any other singles invited and maybe you'll sit together or make plans to meet.

Fair enough, but who's to say that I won't have a S.O. by August?

Well, I hope you do but since you don't at the moment I suppose your friend had to make the decision to invite you without a guest. Sorry.
