How to include names of bride's parents for a belated reception if groom's parents are hosting

Hello,

I am doing belated reception invitations for a friend. The goom's parents are hosting the event but would like to have the names of the bride's parents included in the invitation so that their friends and family will know their names. Is it ever proper to word the invitation this way:

Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parents

invite you to join us

in celebrating the recent marriage of

Bride's Name

daughter of Bride's Parents

to Groom's Name

Saturday, the first of November....

I have never seen this done and was wondering if it is not appropriate. Any suggestions on alternate wording would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Dear Sblue,

The couple is already married at this point. So, the couple would be mentioned as a married couple: Mr. and Mrs. Groom's name. There really wouldn't be any place for the bride's parent's names. It isn't a wedding invitation. So, the names don't need to be listed. It is a party. So, it is fine if only the hosts are listed.

You don't need to mention the wedding either. Guests will know that they are married if they are invited to a reception.

It could read:

Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parents

request the pleasure of your company

at a reception

in honor of

Mr. and Mrs. Happily Married Couple

Etc.

Best wishes,
