I was invited with a guest and that invitation has been rescinded

The wedding invitation from my best friend of 17 years included me and a guest. She recently rescinded the invitation to include a guest because there is not enough room for extra people. Is that even remotely appropriate? I am deeply offended especially since I am also a bridesmaid. Unless she calls everyone invited with a guest and rescinds their offer as well, I don't see a reason to comply. Please advise.

Re: [curious_maid] "and Guest" invites [In reply to]

It is certainly not appropriate but if she has now verbally asked you not to being a guest you should comply. You wouldn't want to bring an unwanted guest. That would be uncomfortable for everyone.

It's unfortunate that she doesn;t understand how inappropriate she is and how it hurts the feelings of her guests.

I completely agree. Although it is impolite to rescind an invitation, it is equally impolite to invite our own guests.

This is unfortunate.
