Including registry cards with wedding invitation enclosures

My future daughter-in-law has selected invitations that are not the normal formal invitations-there is no 2nd envelope just the one.

She wants to include post cards from the stores she is registered in along with the wedding invitation--is this a proper thing to do or should they only be sent with shower invitations.

We never mention gifts in a wedding invitation since it would appear as though this was the focus of the wedding. Save those cards for the shower.
