     Invitation Wording for Divorced Parents

Thank you for the great site! It is full of helpful information. As a bride to be I've been able to find the answers to many of my questions!

However, I haven't been able to find anyone with my exact invitation issues. Can you please help me figure out how to word my invitations? Here are the details. My fiance's parents are divorced. His dad is remarried to a wonderful woman who has hyphenated her last name. His mom is legally married to the man she's been with for years, but she kept her married name from the first marriage. Both of my fiance's step-parents are a big part of our lives and all of the parents, including mine, are contributing financially to the wedding.

Would the example below be proper wording for our invitations?

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith (bride's parents)

Mrs. Sara Johnson and Mr. Sam Brown (groom's mother and partner)

Mr. Steve Johnson and Mrs. Jennifer Wall-Johnson (groom's father and wife)

invite you to celebrate the marriage of their children ...ect.

Did my research pay off? Is that correct? If not, please let me know how I can change it so that I am following proper etiquette and honoring all of our wonderful parents.

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Dear Greenbride,

Thank you for the compliment!

And, you did an excellent job of doing your homework. As a retired classroom teacher, I give you an "A." Well done.

Best wishes,

How fun to go from teaching to weddings! Two of my favorite things! Thanks again!
