This is a renewing of wedding vows ceremony and reception.

Children are not invited. How can I print this on the invitation. Can I say, Adults Only. Please help.

Dear Invitations,

Please no. One polite way to do this, besides word of mouth, (definitely tell as many people as possible of your plans) is to use an inner envelope with your invitations. On the front of the inner envelope write the names of those invited.

Guests are supposed to understand that only the names listed are those who are invited. You may have guests bringing their children anyway. So, you might want to get the word out with a lot of help.

Another idea just came to mind while answering another post. You may be able to avoid this problem by supplying a reply card with a 1 or 2 that the guest is to circle, or write out each card with their names already with a regrets or accepts line.

Best wishes,

I agree with Rebecca completely, however, it is becoming almost accepted to use the term, "Adult Only Reception" on the reception invitation. Etiquette evolves as the general public forces it to.
