Inviting Wedding Guests to Bring a Date if They Are Unmarried
Hello,
I wanted to first thank all of you for this wonderful site. Thank for your time, advice and patience! It is very helpful!
I realize that sometimes I don't search hard enough for a question that has already been answered and I know you have a lot of questions to answer! So please excuse me.
I searched your website further and found that it is optional to invite single people -who aren't involved in a serious relationship- with a guest. If you aren't sure if they are involved can you only invite the guest witout a date? Due to distance and busy lifestyles it is sometimes hard to keep frequent contact and be updated on the lives of others. Sometimes people don't have time to respond to emails or other friends or family aren't even sure of the situation of certain people.
Thank you again for all your help.

Dear Elisa,
Thank you for the compliment and I don't think this has been asked before.
It would be appropriate to invite your guest without allowing for an escort if you do not know of a significant other. Just don't mention it on the envelope.

You should definitely make the effort to try to find out of your guest is in a committed relationship, especially if they are expected to travel to your wedding. many people don;t like to travel alone. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
