Inviting guests from work to wedding

I wanted 125 people at my wedding. I am now over 140 without inviting anyone form my work. There are people I would like to invite. Is it ok to invite some and not others? I talk about my wedding plans and everyone knows I am getting married! I do have a relationship with some out of work, but not others. Can I invite some and ask them not to bring guests? Help!

Dear Theresa,

We have many posts concerning this, as it is a very common problem. It will help if you read past posts before posting new.

You should only invite those close to you. Normally, people realize this, even if you work with them.

If you invite a guest, you are obligated to also invite their significant other. You are not obligated to allow anyone to bring a date.

Best wishes,
