Is It alright on invitation to include........

Is it alright to include the gentleman's name that will be giving me away and hosting my wedding with my mother? No they are not married but is it proper to include his name as well as my mothers? I really don't want my single parent to appear on the wedding invite alone, and would think it selfish of me to not include the gentleman who is giving me away, since father will not be able to. Any help?

Dear Is it All Right,

If he is hosting with your mother it would be appropriate to mention him on your invitation. But, many single parents issue invitations. There is no stigma attached. So, this is your choice.

Because they are not married, your mother's name would be mentioned first with his listed underneath. It would look similar to this:

Ms. Your Mother's Name

Mr. Gentleman's Name

requests the honour of your presence

at the marriage of Ms. Your Mother's Name daughter

You

to

Mr. Groom

Best wishes,
