More modern way of addressing wedding invitations

Must I address invitations to "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith" or can I print just "Jane and John Smith". Our wedding will be semi-formal. Furthermore, I don't know that younger women today care to be referred to as "Mrs. John Smith".

Dear Jjtdm,

I agree. But, the invitation is the first hint of the formality of your wedding. So, it is important to follow the traditional form when you are planning a more formal wedding.

Best wishes,
