RSVP # of weeks before wedding date

Is four weeks too long before the wedding to ask people to RSVP on or before ? I have been told 1-2 weeks, 3 tops. I already ordered my invites and rsvp cards with a Aug 10th rsvp date for a Sept. 8th wedding.

No it is not too long. You need that information so you can create your seating chart for the caterer and that takes a bit of time. Also it gives you time to call those who do not rsvp to get their answer.

Thank you so much ! Now I won't have to "stop the presses" on my invitation order :)
