Rude to invite wife and not husband to wedding?

My fiance and I are finishing up our guest list - we are getting ready to send out save-the-dates. I am currently in nursing school and have acquired some amazing friends during the past year that I would love to invite to our wedding. The problem is I can only have 200 guests max, and I don't have enough space to invite them and their husbands, boyfriends, kids, etc. Is it rude to only invite the girls?

If it makes it any better I have never met any of their families!

Yes, it would be rude to invite a wife without her husband to your wedding.
