     Save-the-Date Etiquette

We've received several replies from people who received the Save-the-Date invitations, telling us that they will not be able to attend the wedding. Do we still send them an invitation? (If their plans have changed, we'd love to have them celebrate with us - if not, we don't want them to feel obligated to send a gift.) Thanks for your help!

Dear Mwillson,

This is yet another reason I don't believe receiving a wedding invitation obligates a person to send a gift. It really doesn't make any sense.

But, you should send wedding invitations to everyone you sent save the dates to because their plans could change.

Best wishes,
