Sending Separate Wedding Invitations to Teens Living with Parents

Two teens, ages 16 and 18, live with their parents. All four are to be invited to the wedding. From this website I have learned anyone 18 or older living at home should receive his own invitation. But would it seem strange for the 16-year-old to be included on his parent's invitation while his brother just 2 years older receives his own? I will do whichever is appropriate, but I wonder if that family will think it strange.

Dear All4Her,

You are correct that it would seem strange. Some books and advisors state that you would send a separate invitation to those over 13 and some state the age is 18. So, it is best to use your own judgment here. I would send separate invitations to both teens since you would be sending one to the 18 year old.

Best wishes,
