     Using Enclosure in Wedding Invitations

Since I am not using an inner envelope with my invitations, I saw that it is most polite to include an enclosure if someone is being invited with a guest. However, how should this enclosure read? Could it be a personal handwritten note such as:

[if we know the guest's name]

Dear Aunt Sue,

Please also make sure to bring Tom with you. We hope you both can make it!

Love,

Susie and Bobby

[if we don't know the guest's name or they aren't dating anyone in particular]

Dear Kate,

You are also welcome to bring a guest. We hope to see you in March!

Love,

Susie and Bobby

Or should it be something more formal and printed?

Thanks much!

Dear Baltobride,

There is no rule for how these should be written. So, use your best judgment. These definitely could be written exactly as you have done here.

Best wishes,
