Wording wedding invitations when bride's surname is different from parents.

My fiance's surname is the same as her mother's name (a Chinese custom), however, her mother is now divorced and not really part of her life, so my fiance has decided to leave her off, and have her father's name and her father's partner's name (neither of whom have the same surname as my fiance). The problem is my fiance is not too keen on having their names together as this may cause confusion/possible embarassement, whilst my parents want to have their names on the invitation, as is traditional/and as they're contributing to the wedding.

Would greatly appreciate your suggestions!

Dear Mycl,

It may be a bit confusing and lengthy, but if she wants both names listed, it is what it is. There is no way to change any of the names. So, if this is what she wants, it could look like this:

Mr. John Smith

Mr. (Ms.) Lee Jones

and

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brown

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of Mr. Smith's daughter

Sarah Jane Doe

to

Walker Sam Brown

Best wishes,
