     wedding invitation wording

I need help on wording for a wedding invitation. Both of my parents are divorced and remarried. Both sets are hosting the wedding. My dad and my step-mom both have their phDs. When I see examples like

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith

and

Drs. John Smith

it looks like my step-mom is cut out of the picture. Is there a better way to write it? Thanks

Dear Wedding Invitation,

Unless your father and step-mother are medical doctors, they should be referred to as Ph.D in print. So, you could write:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith

and

Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Smith Ph.Ds

Or Mr. John Smith Ph.D and Ms. Jane Smith Ph.D
