     Paying the Pianist

The girl playing the paino for my wedding is a good friend from high school. I am having her play about 4 prelude songs, the grandmothers/mothers song, canon in d for the bridesmaids, here comes the bride, one or two ceremony songs, and the recessional song. She is such a great person and a perfectionist, so I know she will do a wonderful job! How much would you suggest I pay her for doing me such a great favor! I want to pay her enough! I would great appreciation some suggestions! thanks so much!

This is a bit of a dillemma since you don't say if she's a professional or not. If she is, we'd suggest you offer her the usual fee she gets. If she isn't,and is doing this just for you, depending on your present relationship, she may not expect anything but perhaps a personal gift expressing your appreciation. The other possibility would be to find out the going rate in your area and perhaps offer that to her. So much depends on her status as a professional and your relationship that we can't say there is any one answer to your question.
