     Pre-recorded Wedding Ceremony Music

I am a music therapist and my fiance is a record producer. I am really tired of the same old wedding music that everyone uses. It is pretty, but it is boring anymore. We have thought about composing our own music, but the only way to get the instrumentation that we'd need is to do it on computer (he knows how to do all of this) and have it on CD. There's no room in our tiny church for a bunch of musicians nor can we afford them...besides we can make it sound "just right" on the computer.

As long as we have someone who can fade things out if need be and who knows the music well running the sound system in the church, is there any reason that we can't use pre-recorded music (as in ettiquette)? Are we going to give anyone a heart attack using our own personalized music rather than the standards? Should it matter since it will be something that we created together for our special day?

Dear Knows the Music,

Go for it! There is no reason not to customize your music per your sensibilities. Computerized music is a very smart thing to do these days. So, no worries.

Best wishes,
