     Wedding Band Price Range

My fiance and I are getting married in the NYC area and are currently looking for a band. I would like to get an idea of price ranges for bands in my area so that I can know what we have to work with when it comes to bargaining for a price. I know that many factors can play a role in this (i.e. number of band members), but I'm wondering if anyone give me some sort of idea of prices and how they vary? I would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide. Thank you!

You need to figure on at least $5000 for a few pieces. Unfortunately New York is one or the most expensive areas in the country. Of course, the more pieces the greater the price. We were recently at an Easthampton wedding that had a ten piece orchestra with tympannies at the ceremony! That had to be a fortune! We would reccomend you not rely on videos given to you by the band. You should visit an upcoming event they're doing an see and hear for yourself. Then make sure, if you like them that the same players are listed in your contract. Thre are great musicians in the NY area, so you should be able to find a great band. Good luck!
