Is it customary to give the entertainment and the photographer/videographer gratuities for their services? We are using a well known event's group so it is not an added cost in the service contract. We are also serving them dinner as part of the reception agreement.
Would you also "tip" the Banquet Manager for his services?
The following wedding professionals normally are tipped:
Valet Parking Attendants
Coat Check/Powder Room Attendants
Limo/Transportation Drivers
Wait Staff/Bartenders
Other wedding professionals from the wedding consultant to the photographer are tipped only if you receive extra-special service from them. As for the Banquet Manager, catering professionals usually build in gratuity into your total bill. Review your contract to see if it is already there.
It is customary for the videographer/company to give the bride or groom a bottom line price. Which means, no further costs should be passed on to the couple unless a last minute request for additional services which weren't in the original quote i.e. an additional 20 DVDs or an additional montage video etc. Therefore, gratuities are not expected as all costs of the wedding coverage have been included in the original quote. This is the norm, at least here in Las Vegas which is "tip" capitol of the world. Cheers and congrats!
