How important is it to "meet" your photographer? I went to a studio & saw the albums on display. When I inquired as to which photographer would be doing my wedding, the answer was that she would have to see who was available for my date, but that all the photographers did great work. I feel that every photographer is different as far as artistic ability, style & personality. Her reply was that photography can be taught & ALL their photographers are well enough qualified. If I go with this studio, I will not be able to meet the photographer until I am a client (make the deposit) THEN, the photographer would set up an appointment whereas he/she would discuss anything needed to be discussed about the up coming wedding photographs. I feel it is important that our personalities "mesh" since I will be spending just about the entire day with him/her. Any help with your opinions/experiences on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Personality definitely comes into play when selecting a wedding photographer.
I actually hired my photographer just this way for my own wedding. The pictures, while adequate, were not artistic at all - all posed by height, lined up like soldiers, etc. AND - if you can believe this - the photographer actually made several comments throughout the day about my cleavage. My husband was, well, not happy about that.
My husband died three years after we were married and these pictures make up the majority of the last photos I have of us together.
All I can say is - Buyer Beware!

Unless this deposit is refundable I would not accept this proposition. I think it is the most important personality match in your wedding vendors because your like or dislike of the person taking the pictures will show. Don't do it and if it means interviewing another photographer, I'd do that. This firm doesn't sound like they are interested in matching the personalities of the clients and their personnel. They don't get IT! Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
