Wedding photographer gave more photos than expected - do we pay extra
My husband and I recently met with our photographer who dropped off our completed wedding photos. They are great. Along with the 200 photos we initially paid for, she brought an additional 100 photos she took that she said were "too good" not to give to us! I asked if we owed her anything for the additional photos, and she replied that we didn't owe her anything and just to refer her to others. She is an awesome photographer. Should we compensate her for the additional photos? If so, how much? What is the etiquette in a situation like this?
Thank You,
Pleased as punch!

Ah - it's so nice to hear about a good experience.
It sounds like this photographer just wanted to give you some good service in order to please you so you'll refer her to others. So, in my opinion, you should do just that. Consider this a gift and send her a wonderful thank you note. If you'd like to send "a little something" along with the note include a gift certificate for a local restaurant or a box of chocolates. I completely agree. This is a person who really deserves to be promoted. And, chocolate is a great thank you gift. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
