     Change the date?

My fiance and I have been discussing have our wedding "late September, early October" of 07 for several months now. This has been broadcast to both families who thought it was a lovely time of year to get married. Last weekend, we finally decided on September 23. It was a tough decision between that and September 16 (I'm a bit of a numbers geek, so dates are important to me). My stepmother has since informed me that that cannot possibly work since that is the weekend that her father takes his annual 2-week fishing trip. September 16 won't work either since that is the middle weekend of the trip.

Do I have to change this? I had no idea about the trip, they were given more than enough time to inform me, and feel like my own family should be able to make me wedding just a wee bit of a priority. I'm worried about what is to come if I give in to this.

Thanks!

Dear Bride,

As long as you are paying for this, you can choose any date you wish. If they are paying, you should still be able to choose the date. However, out of respect it would be better to change it. So, hopefully you are paying.

Best wishes,
