Color Scheme for Marine Corp Wedding

My fiance is a U.S. marine. I am extremely proud of him and want him to wear his dress blues uniform in the wedding. We will be having a military wedding. However, I am struggling with colors. We will be getting married in August or September (the date isn't set yet because i'm waiting on his deployment date). I was planning on doing red and gold, but the wedding is outside. Are red and gold okay colors for an outdoor wedding in August? If not, does anyone have any suggestions for a color scheme?

Thank You!

He should indeed wear his dress blues provided that the wedding is formal or semi formal. Your family and guests will be very proud that he acknowledges his service. Your red and gold colors sound fine for the wedding unless you are trying to evoke a Summer or Autumn theme. Even then, the colors would be striking.
