Divorced Father of the Bride Has Not Received Invitation

My brother is the father of the bride. She called him to let him know of the wedding. All his brothers and sisters have received an invitation to the wedding but the father has not received one. Is this proper?

Dear Kimberley1,

No, this isn't. But, the bride may not know that she needs to send him an invitation. Maybe she thought he'd know he was invited since she told him about it. Since you have received your invitation and know you are formally invited, perhaps you could mention that her father hasn't received his and was wondering if he is invited. You can play middle-man (person).

Best wishes,
