     Grooms parents responsibilities

I have heard that the grooms parents had certain responsibilities for the wedding such as the rehearsal dinner. What other responsibilities are there?Cool

In past times, the responsibilities for payment of each part of the wedding were a little more clear cut. Nowadays, with couples marrying later in life, living together before marriage, etc, it is less clear since couples are often footing the bill for their own wedding.

However, the following is a list of what traditionally would have been considered the groom's parents responsibilities during the wedding planning process (what grooms parents pay for)

1. Host rehearsal dinner
2. Boutonnieres for the groom, best man, groomsmen and fathers
3. Bride's bouquet, bride's going-away corsage, corsages for mothers and grandmothers
4. Marriage license
5. Minister's fee
6. Accommodations for groomsmen, if required
7. Accommodations for groom's parents, if required
8. Alcohol at the reception
